Product Design Director
Eidra is expanding in the US market and as we build our digital product and design presence, we're looking for a Product Design Director to help build a team and lead from the ground up.
You'll shape product strategy and design direction for our clients, and you'll be in the work, not just above it. Some days that means setting direction in a client workshop or framing a product opportunity from scratch. Others it means sitting in Figma with the team, pushing concepts forward, and raising the bar when it matters. You move between those modes naturally, because you understand that great outcomes need both.
This role sits at the intersection of three things we need equally: craft and design excellence, product strategy and direction, and commercial leadership. You'll be owning relationships, growing accounts, and helping build Eidra's reputation and business in a new market. If this feels like your sweet spot, please read on.
This role is based in Chicago, with a commitment of 3 days per week at Eidra's office located in Fulton Market. As part of our expanding presence in the US, you will also contribute to growing Eidra's footprint in the North American market, helping to establish our reputation for excellence in development, strategy, and delivery.
You must be authorized to work in the United States to be considered. Sponsorship is not being offered for this position
What you'll do
Shape product strategy and experience direction with clients, translating ambiguous briefs and real business problems into clear product direction grounded in customer reality, commercial logic, and what's genuinely buildable.
Be in the work at the level it needs. In early phases that means leading discovery, framing opportunities, and shaping concepts. In delivery phases that means working directly with the team, in the detail, in the craft, raising the quality bar as work moves toward production.
Own senior client relationships independently, navigating complexity and ambiguity, creating momentum, and leading cross-functional teams with clear direction and accountability.
Grow the business by spotting where more value can be created, shaping expansion opportunities across Eidra's capabilities, and contributing to proposals and pitches with genuine conviction because you understand the work deeply.
Help build Eidra in Chicago, hiring and shaping the team, being visible in the community, building relationships and partnerships, and turning that presence into new conversations and opportunities.
Who you are
Experience leading product design and UX strategy with an agency or consulting background strongly preferred, and a track record of shaping and shipping complex digital products that hold up commercially and experientially.
A designer who leads and a leader who designs. You have strong craft instincts and you use them. You know when to set direction and when to roll up your sleeves, and you make both look natural.
Genuinely strong on product strategy: you can frame an opportunity, challenge a brief, define a roadmap, and hold a commercial point of view, not just execute against someone else's.
Commercially sharp, with experience independently leading accounts, driving account growth, and contributing to new business.
Fluent in how AI tools are changing the design process, and opinionated about where they add real value and where they don't.
Excited by the founding nature of this role, building a team, shaping a culture, and establishing what Eidra stands for in a new market.
